As the economy took a turn for the worse, many organizations like ours felt the crunch. Attendance levels dropped, private donations dropped, state budgets for the arts were cut even further...many didn't weather the storm. As you can see, we did make it through the sagging economic crisis, but that doesn't mean it is all smooth sailing. As we move into our third season in our new location, there is still an awful lot of work to be done. Things we can't do without money. You all know what is coming so there is no use trying to pretend that our purpose for this page isn't asking you to invest in The Community Players.
Wait a minute, did they say INVEST? Not donate, but INVEST? Yes, you read that correctly. Because of the economic situation in this country, people are getting asked to donate to one cause or another almost daily. Most of those organizations you haven't even heard of, let alone know if they are really legit. That is why we don't ask you to just give us your money. We ask you to invest in our future. We realize it isn't your typical investiment where you get a monetary return on the money you put in. The return you get from investing in The Community Players is strictly visceral. It's the feeling of anticipation you get sitting there just before the lights go up. The lightheartedness you feel hearing a familiar song in you favorite musical. The flush of anger that creeps over you when the antagonist foils the plot. The elation you feel when the hero saves the day. It's the feeling of pride and accomplishment you feel when you walk in the door knowing that you played a major part in the ongoing success of this great little theatre company. The knowledge that you helped put this show on, helped buy the new comfortable chairs, had a hand in getting a new sound and light system or allowed us to develop a top notch curiculum for our classes so we can introduce those who have never been involved in theatre to the joys of live entertainment.
You can be secure in the knowledge that your investment is being used 100% for either producing one of our shows for the season or for the improvement of the theatre itself. We are staffed and run solely by volunteers so none of your investment goes towards anyone's salary. Every dime we take in is used to bring our audience the best show in town.
So, if you like making sound investment decisions...decisions that you know will get the highest return for your money...returns where the results are measured in the continued success of the investments target, then please invest in The Community Players. We are a registered 501c3 so all investments are tax deductable. If you choose to be, you will be recognized in our programs for every show and on our upcoming lobby wall display. Or you can remain anonymous.
